Receiving error: "The Anyconnect package on the secure gateway could not be located." when attempting to connect to devnetsb12.cisco.com from an Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit host. Connecting from a Windows host works fine. Thanks in advance.
Just checking in! Please let us know what version of AnyConnect that you're using to help us pinpoint the issue. Could you reserve another lab so we can work with you to debug this issue?
I used the download/install instructions provided in the sandbox VPN tab. Here is the output from a reservation that I made on 07/25/2016. I made a few attempts to connect between 22:20-22:30 ET:
Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (version 3.1.09013) .

VPN> connect devnetsb12.cisco.com
>> contacting host (devnetsb12.cisco.com) for login information...
>> notice: Contacting devnetsb12.cisco.com.

>> state: Connecting

>> error: The AnyConnect package on the secure gateway could not be located. You may be experiencing network connectivity issues. Please try connecting again.
>> state: Disconnected
Speculating a bit, but on the theory that the VPN concentrator has not had the Linux version of the AC client provisioned for HTTP download, you may be able to connect by installing the (3.x version) of the Linux AC client manually first: Cisco Systems
(I think you would want the 'Full installation package - Linux 64-bit (tar.gz)')
You will need a Cisco TAC support contract with software download entitlement in order to retrieve the download.
Hi - Thanks.
I grabbed the latest 3.1 full install package and manually installed with the same results, unfortunately:
Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (version 3.1.14018) .

Looks like we may need to update some packages on our headend. I'm going to install an Ubuntu 16.04 testbed and work on this. I'll update this case once I've got it successfully working on 16.04. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
