We have problems connecting Jabber to the CUCM servers in the Shared Endpoint lab. There is no problem connecting the VPN with Anyconnect VPN client.
We have tried connecting several times both yesterday and today and only succeeded once. The error message in Jabber for Win indicates that it can't communicate with the server.
Apologies, I should have updated the thread to indicate that the maintenance was finished.
What device Type are you using, Jabber Client, Jabber SDK, ect?
We're using Jabber for Windows client version 10.5.4.
Let me try and connect from here to test it out.
Can you try resolving the following using "nslookup" command in command prompt:
let me know if you are returned the IP addresses
Here is the output from the nslookup command:
Resolution is working correctly.
At what point do you see the error message? during login or can you login but phone services is disabled.
It's during login.
Tried this using my own personal user and it worked ok.
Account Type: Cisco IM & Presence
Login Server: Use Following server (10.10.20.20)
What user are you logging in with?
I created users in the sandbox reservation site of the type "Cisco Jabber SDK for Windows/MAC". I created 4 but none works.
I use server 10.10.20.1 when I configure Jabber under "advanced settings". Just tried 10.10.20.20 but it fail directly, while 10.10.20.1 fail after a couple of seconds (but with same error message).
I performed some testing with this. Can you update your /etc/hosts file on your pc with the following:
goto file and reset jabber. Then goto advanced settings and select IM and Presence. In the server field, enter cup.psdtemea.cisco.com. Proceed to login.
Let me know how that goes. There is some work I need to do on domains etc but this should get you over this issue.
I tried it on two computers and it worked on both. Should we continue using these new settings?
Yes for the moment until I look at the DNS setting for this lab.
I will keep the forum updated any other changes that need to be made.
Just to let you know that we will be carrying gout essential maintenance on the Shared Endpoint lab on the Tuesday 17th February 2014 at approximately 7am - 10 am GMT. During this time, connection to the CUCM servers and Anyconnect VPN will be affected.
We apologies for any inconvenience caused. We will be updating the forum when service is fully restored.
