See how to manage your infrastructure from a booted host OS using the Cisco UCS Configuration Utility (ucscfg User Guide) and Puppet.  The video demo covers these management operations:

  • Verifying that IPMI is functioning on the system (ucscfg communicates with the Cisco IMC over IPMI).
  • ucscfg show command for retrieving current settings.
  • ucscfg set command to modify a BIOS setting (in this example, processor hyper threading desired state is set to disabled)
  • Puppet module to automate ucscfg including automatic server reboots to make changes effective when configuration drift is detected
