Please make sure to read the C819 IOx SDK Cook Book (819-IOx-SDK-Cookbook.docx) carefully before you are trying to install Python Modules for C819 IOx. Here the assumption is that the version of C819 IOx SDK of “iox_sdk_installer-x86_64-v0.1-20150501.bin” or later is installed successfully.

In the SDK, app-03 provides you with the make file to build the Python2.7 interpreter and a set of default modules.

Download the related python modules, and put them to app-03/gpl/python-modules, add the module name to MODULES_LIST in the Makefile, and build OVA finally. The generated OVA will support the related Python modules accordingly.

Here is a sample to install the Python Modules of "pyserial" and "minimalModbus" for Serial Interface and Modbus standard.

(1) Download pyserial (version 2.7) and minimalModbus (version 0.6) packages from https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pyserial and https://pypi.python.org/pypi/MinimalModbus.

(2) Copy the compressed tar ***** to app-03/gpl/python-modules, and add the module name to MODULES_LIST in Makefile as follows before you build the OVA.

MODULES_LIST=CherryPy-3.6.0 six-1.9.0 psutil-2.0.0 pyserial-2.7 MinimalModbus-0.6 \

(3) Go to the app-03 directory (/opt/ciscoiox/cisco_iox_sdk-x86_64-v0.1/examples/apps/app-03/), and run the "make" command, and it will build the application OVA including python 2.7. And then deploy the OVA application through Local App Manager or Fox Director to specific C819. The C819 IOx will support the Python Modules accordingly.

[NOTE]: Please try to copy your other applications and libraries to ${D}/usr/bin or ${D}/usr/lib in "/opt/ciscoiox/cisco_iox_sdk-x86_64-v0.1/examples/apps/app-03/imgb_cb.sh" before you run "make" in Step 3.
