We are considering making an CAD client that is more accessible to someone who is vision impaired. We want to make 90% or more of the features currently available in Cisco Finesse accessaphone to someone who cannot see the screen. In other words, wherever the active curser is for the agent we will speak its location. Is this the best API for us to use in making such a solution?

You cannot use any CCX configuration APIs to accomplish what you stated. Instead, you could use CCX CTI protocol to implement a desktop client.

    Thanks,
    Sridhar

    Hi Sridhar,
Thanks for the reply. Would the CCX CTI protocol give me access to create an application to control the existing CAD? In other words, I want to control the existing CAD as I would create a TAPI application to control the Cisco phone through the Cisco Tapi Service Provider.

    Thanks.
    Dustin

What API would give me access to CAD / Finesse so that I could recieve informaiton regarding what is being displayed through the CAD / Finesse clinet audibly to the user with the vision impairement?

My application would provide the audible information. I just need the notification on where the active curser is. What about the Finesse API?

UCCX Configuration API has nothing to do with Finesse or CAD and does not provide for an active cursor for a CAD or Finesse.

CAD and Finesse are different products, but netiher has an API that provides audible information on what is being displayed.
