With AXP an application could use iosapi to run IOS commands.  Is there anything equivalent in SRE-V?  Can an app running inside a VM execute IOS commands?
    Thanks.

    Hi John,

To confirm, IOS APIs are not part of SRE-V.

However, you have 2 options for accessing IOS commands from applications running on SRE-V.

The first option is to use the Web Services Management Agent (WSMA) feature in IOS.  For more information see http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/netmgmt/configuration/guide/nm_cfg_wsma_ps6441_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html

The 2nd option would be to use the new One Platform Kit (onePK) APIs.  See http://developer.cisco.com/web/onepk for more information on onePK.

We are starting Controlled Availability for the onePK APIs on the ISR G2 in April.  If you are interested in participating in the onePK Controlled Availability, please contact me directly – jovoss@cisco.com<mailto:jovoss@cisco.com>

    Best Regards,

    John

    Hi John,
I appreciate the information you provided regarding access to IOS from
SRE-V applications.   This will be very helpful as we transition
    customers to SRE-V from AXP.
    Thanks again.
