    I have a 9971 running on CME 8.6, test on startMedia to receive multicast stream, it work on CUCM but fail with CME.

    Initially I through is AUTH URL issue, however after some wireshark found the following response from the 9971 when run with CME.

    POST /CGI/Execute HTTP/1.1
    Authorization: Basic XXXXXXXXXXXX
    Content-Type: application/soap+xml; charset=utf-8
    Host: 192.168.50.17
    Content-Length: 179
    Expect: 100-continue

    HTTP/1.1 100 Continue

    XML=<startMedia><mediaStream receiveVolume='80'><type>audio</type><codec>G.711</codec><mode>receive</mode><address>239.1.2.3</address><port>20480</port></mediaStream></startMedia>

    HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <errorResponse>
    <type> XmlParseError</type>
    <data> Invalid IP Address</data>
    </errorResponse>

    I've also changed the firmware that known work on CUCM, 9.2.1 and the latest firmware for 9971 but all failed with the same error.

    Anyone experience this kind of issue ? and how to resolve this ?

    Rg,
    Gerald.

    I don't believe <startMedia> API can be used for multicast - it is intended for unicast RTP transmissions.  The benefit is access to additional codecs and ability to setup send/receive in one command. I suspect the request fails as it appears that a multicast address is given, which is invalid for a unicast stream.

    Please try the RTPMRx and Tx URIs for multicast streaming.
