Hi,

We have a preview release of the EnergyWise 1.2.8 toolkit available for 32 bit Linux. In this release we are previewing the MAPI and Java (JNI) portion only. So there's no SDK portion in this preview.

The preview release is available as a Gnu Privacy Guard encrypted download. If you'd like to preview the release please email the support alias energywise-cdn@cisco.com and request the password. If you download the library we ask that you please try the library out and provide feedback in EnergyWise Labs forum.

In order to use the library please download it from the Download section of the Cisco EnergyWise area.

You will need Gnu Privacy Guard (gpg) to access the tar file. The steps to use the library are:

$ gpg Cisco-EnergyWise-Toolkit-3.0.0-mapi-PREVIEW-0.tgz.gz
(enter the passkey we provided to you directly)
$ tar xvzf Cisco-EnergyWise-Toolkit-3.0.0-mapi-PREVIEW-0.tgz
$ cd toolkit/bin/Linux
$ ./MgmtApiTestJava.sh -h host -l localhost -d domain -s secret -n name -k keywords -m MAC -L log_level {0..5} -t timeout -i importance{1..100} -p udpport

A readme file is included in /toolkit/README

We have added a few new functions to the C libraries in the preview to help us with the Java JNI type conversion and functions. We'd ask that you pay particular attention to the JNI function signatures and the accompanying Javadoc. Most of the newer type conversion functions (aside from strings) are stubbed out and may not provide exact data from your network. We're concentrating on the function signatures in this preview to you.

Any comments or suggestions on those portions of the library would be greatly appreciated.

We will be using the Forums to support this preview

Please post questions, comments, suggestions, etc to the forum and the team will respond ASAP.

thank you!
John

Hi John,

Can this version of the toolkit be compiled to run on Windows?

Is there any version of the MAPI which can be used to create windows webservice?

Are there any examples anywhere for how to create a VC# webservice to call the MAPI functions (get, set, etc)?

Thanks.
Best regards,
Niall.
