    Hello,

Does anybody know if CiscoIPPhoneExecute is available in UCM 8.6.1?

I don't seem to be able to find the Cisco IP Phone Services Application Development notes for Call Manager 8.6.

    Any help appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,

    Paulo Silva

The IP Phone Services XML interface capabilities are more dependent on the phone model/firmware than the UCM version, but the answer is generally: yes.
You should be able to consider the latest available guide/SDK as applicable to the current UCM release, if and until a newer doc/SDK is released.

    Hi,

Is the authentication url reachable from the phone? i.e. if it has the
hostname in it, does the phone have dns?

A network packet capture (via Wireshark) is usually the best way to inspect the actual authentication request and response for issues (make sure and capture from a PC connected to the phone's extra PC switch port.)  Feel free to attach the pcap here.

Did you set both the secure and non secure authentication URL on the CUCM?

This has become much more challenging with the Secure URLs and SSL encrypted traffic where it tends to be more helpful to do more diagnostic on the server side.

    Hi David,
Thank you very much for you quick answer. We have a UCM 8.0 setup where this works like a charm; our customer is running 8.6.1 and no matter what we do to the user, we have had no luck so far.
    We consistently get <CiscoIPPhoneError Number="4" /> for a response.
Do you have a couple things we could/should check to get this going?

    Thanks, Sascha!
The answer is yes! The authentication URL has an IP address in it.
We setup an End User, associated the particular device with it and associated the user with all the groups in the system...still we get the error mencioned above...

    Hello,
Using Wireshark and Fiddler we discovered two things:
#1: the authentication request agaisnt UCM returns AUTHORIZED
      http:/xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/ccmcip/authenticate.jsp?UserID=xxxxxxx&Password=xxxxxxx&devicename=SEPIPC2525
In spite of this, the phone still returns an Error code 0

#2: When launching IP Communicator, we found a couple 404 errors looking for a tlv file (CTL certificate)
Not entirely sure what this may mean
    Thanks in advance!
