How Do I Check My IOS Version and Update it?

    I wasn't sure if I needed to update my IOS version. I tried a show version but wasn't clear on exactly what field to read. It would be good to have the exact command to type.  So for now, I am assuming that I do not need to update my IOS, if I did need to , not so sure the install doc tells me how to do that.

    You can get your IOS version on the router by typing: 'show version | sec image'.  The image name shows the platform and version.  If you need to update your IOS please check the white paper: 'How to Upgrade IOS Images on the ISR.pdf' located in the IOS images component in the knowledgebase:  http://developer.cisco.com/web/srev/docs .
