Hello,

I have a C2960  Catalyst Swich with the follwoing version :
Cisco IOS Software, C2960 Software (C2960-LANBASEK9-M), Version 12.2(55)SE, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
To use the last EnergyWise sdk, I must upgrade the switch with the latest version provided from http://developer.cisco.com/web/esdk/docs and Cisco IOS Software item. But, the tar file contains only bin files of different EnergyWise equipement, and I found from documentation only upgrade steps from a complet tar file (info files, one bin file, html web files...).
How can I use only a bin file to upgrade my switch ?

thanks

Manuel

Hi Thomas,

You'll need to setup a TFTP server that is accessible from your switch and place the bin file there.  You'll then want to copy that bin file over to your flash:/ memory on the switch and configure the boot parameter to use the newly copied image before rebooting the system.

You can refer to this for the same procedure, ignoring the fact that this mentions a 3750 stack as the device:  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps5023/products_configuration_example09186a00804799d7.shtml#cfbin1

Let us know if you have any issues with the procedure.

Hi Brock,

It is OK now. I had already copy the bin to the flash of the switch by tftp, but I was missing the command to configure the boot variable to boot the switch with the newly copied IOS...
I thank you.
