Not aware of any AXL APIs for this.

    Hi all,
I am trying to work out if it is possible to get a CUCM 7.1(2) to backup its components to an SFTP server by using AXL. I have looked through the documentation for the provisioning AXL calls and I there is no mention of Backup/Restore or Disaster Recovery. Perhaps there are serviceability AXL calls which cover this functionality?

I know I can use the CLI to achieve disaster recovery tasks, however I need to achieve this via AXL over SOAP/ SSL for our implementation.

    Thanks for your time,
    Aaron

Thanks David. Was starting to think that was the case.
However, as we can obviously perform backup and restore functions via the Web interface's Disaster Recovery menu then there must be a way to get the CUCM to do this via HTTPS/SOAP. Surely if they can do it remotely, we must be able to via AXL. Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks again David for your time.

Well, as you suggest you could use HTML 'screen scraping' to basically emulate the requests that the admin web UI makes.  Probably the easiest way would be to use wireshark to analyze the HTML source for the backup activation form in the browser, and reverse engineer the HTTP request.

This of course would not be officially supported and could change with any given release.

Or use the CLI via SSH,
    utils disaster_recovery backup network <device>

    Yes,
Have already been there, but as I need to programatically perform disaster recovery backup and restore functionality the CLI is not so perfect.
By the way the CLI usage that I had to use for CUCM 7.1 (2) is:
utils disaster_recovery backup network ccm \ 192.168.x.x admin
where ccm is the registered "feature"
where either \ or . worked for the path parameter.
where 192.168.x.x is the SFTP server (CoreFTP mini-stfp 1.0.1.9 worked well) IP address
and where admin was the user account name on the SFTP server.
