1.) Is there a method to allow the import of a VM image via USB thumbdrive connected to either the SRE or router USB ports?  We are aware of the sre module command line ftp and url copy commands, but all ftp servers would be remote in production instances.

2.) Is there a method to all the transfer of an IOS file from USB to a datastore via a USB thumbdrive connected to either the SRE or router USB ports?  We are aware of using the vSphere Datastore browser to transfer files from our PCs.  They would be remote to the SREs in production instances.

We are wanting to use this ability and avoid tranfering large files over a remote facilities WAN link.

    Hi Steven,

Regarding your questions, the USB port can only be used by the guest VM to write/read data.  As required by VMware, when a VM is modified/created the USB port must be specified only here for VM access privileges.

    Thanks,
