    Hi,

A few thing to check here

    1)      Do you have the IP address on the service module configured on the IOS? If so can you please send us the ¿show running-config¿ output from the router.

    2)      Did you activate the license the SM ?

    a.       To do so please session in to the SM using the cli ¿service-module sm x/0 session¿

    b.      Once you session in activate the license by using the cli ¿license activate sreVHost¿

    3)      Also give us the output of  the cli from the console manager (once you session into the SM) ¿show hypervisor ip¿

    4)      What is the Ip address you are using to for https://<ip address <https://%3cip%20address>   T

    Thanks,

    Radhika

Question - Does the hypervisor pick up the IP address from the Router or does it need to be manually configured?

    Thanks

Thanks for the information. Looks like you did not configure the mgf address (this will be assigned to the hypervisor) on the router. One quick question before we move forward did you change the IOS version to the one suggested? Can you give me the input of ¿show version¿ from the router.

    Thanks,

    Radhika

Also wanted to clarify the service-module ip address you configured is being used for the console manager. For the hypervisor you need to configure the service module mgf IP address.

Once you set the IP address on the router you don¿t need to set it on console manager but you will need to do a reload of the SM.

    Hi

The software installed on the router is the one we downloaded a couple of days ago. All we have done is to rename the filename.

    original file name was c2900-universalk9-mz.SSA.T_BASE_1_20100819

    Is there a newer file?

    Thanks

Can I get access to your blade?

    Hi

Apologies - Read the whole of the Steve Mathhews post and you are right, the issue is different,

hence I have editted the previous post :-)

Access to the blade may prove difficult but you could share my desktop if that helps using logmein or similar

    Please do the following

    1. Upgrade IOS image to the one provided on CDN
    2. Configure all IPs on SM 1/0 interface and SM 1/1 should be in trunk mode, hence what you see below isn't correct.

    interface SM1/1
    ip address 10.24.7.17 255.255.255.252

    3. Configure VLAN 1
    4. Session into the blade. I would suggest you uninstall and install SRE-V and then session into the module.
    5. Make sure hypervisor gateway is set to VLAN1 IP Address
    6. Connect to hypervisor using Vsphere.

reinstalled software but still the IOS commands are not recognised.

Do you think it is related to the fact that this device is registered and managed through Cisco License manager?

You don't need any other license, IP Base should be sufficient. Can you provide us the output of sh version from IOS. I hope the SRE module is currently blank i.e. doesn¿t have any application installed on it. If not, please uninstall the application.
