I just need to run this from the command line so that I can update phone lines.  When I use the command from the readme.txt file:

    java -cp .\classes;.\lib\saaj-api.jar;.\lib\saaj-impl.jar;.\lib\mail.jar;.\lib\activation.jar;.\lib\jaxm-api.jar;.\lib\jaxm-runtime.jar;.\lib\xercesImpl.jar;.\lib\xml-apis.jar AxlSqlToolkit -username=Administrator -password=cvmadmin123 -host=10.10.2.50 -input=select.xml

    I get the following error:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/xerces/par
    sers/DOMParser
            at AxlSqlToolkit.execute(AxlSqlToolkit.java:187)
            at AxlSqlToolkit.main(AxlSqlToolkit.java:244)

I know this means that it can't find something in the xercesImpl.jar, but I have no idea how to fix it and I'm tearing my hair out.

    Thanks for your help

Xerces should have been extracted as part of the Toolkit bundle.  Some things to check:

    - Ensure the AXLSQLToolkit.zip is extracted fully, including folder structure
    - Check that the Xerces jar is present: %ToolkitRoot%/lib/xercesImpl.jar is present
    - Execute the command while in the root of the extracted folder (i.e. the readme and sample.xml are in this folder), not in the lib folder
    - Java version is at least 1.5 (I just tried this using 1.6 and it worked fine)

Note the command is slightly different between Windows and Linux...the command you were showing is the Windows version.

    Thanks for responding, David.

I've double checked everything on your list and still get the same error.  Any other suggestions?

If all these things check out I'm not sure that makes sense at all :/

I suspect that some path related issue is preventing the runtime from accessing/seeing the Xerces jar..?

If everything above checks out, then I'm not sure the problem makes any sense :/

My only guess would be that some kind of simple/obvious problem with pathing is getting in the way.
