    One has to update devlicelistx.asp on CCM 4.x to retrieve new phone models. Anyone knows what would be the phone code for 7942 G?

    Here is the list you have to update on decevicelistx.asp

        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 20003;  // 7905
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 34;     // 7910
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 206;  // 7911
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 307;  // 7911 ?
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 30022;  // 7912
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 30002;  // 7920
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 264;    // Cisco 7921
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 36;     // 7940
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 115;    // 7941
       supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 208;    // 7941G-GE
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 333;    // Cisco 7942
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 334;    // Cisco 7945
       supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 35;     // 7960
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 30044;  // 7961
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 207;    // 7961G-GE
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 303;    // Cisco 7962
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 335;    // Cisco 7965
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 30018;  // 7970
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 119;    // 7971
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 336;    // Cisco 7975
        supportedPhones[supportedPhones.length] = 30041;  // IP Communicator

    These values are in the UCM database in the 'typemodel' table.  For 7942 the value = 333

    Thanks David. 333 is for 7942, not 7942G. See the list on the first posting.

    Thanks

    I'm not sure there is a difference - my understanding was the 'G' designated 'Global', meaning that the English words on the phone buttons were replaced with symbols (i.e. a globe for 'Services')

    Actually there is a difference between phone code of G and regular phones. For example 7961 is 30044 and 7961G is 207.
    I have 4.1 of CCM, and devicelistx.asp is not retreiving 7942G and I have updated the phone codes. I looked a the table in database and was not able to see 7942G in the list. It may have to do that I don't have the latest service release. In the past I was able to work with it by updating the phone codes in devicelistx.asp.

    Actually the list is used by PhoneTop -- 3rd party paging application. It uses AXL/SOAP for 5.x and above, but devicelistx for 4.x.

    Device 30044 is the 7961, and device 207 is the 7961G-GE.  The latter has a hardware difference in that it has a gigabit ethernet adapter (-GE), and so has a different device type.  I'm still not sure there is any hardware difference between 7942/7942G.

    With your modified DeviceListX.asp, are you seeing 7942's reported, but not 7942G's...?  That wouldn't make sense to me.

    Note, that modifying DeviceListX.asp is not officially supported - the recommended interface for obtaining phone/IP info is the Serviceability SOAP API (RisPort.)
