The IOS platforms currently being used to deploy and develop EnergyWise solutions require hard power-cycling to reset the EnergyWise child data, such as sequence number.  Power cycling a switch just to reset a sequence ID for development debugging is a huge waste of time.  Adding a command like "clear energywise children" similar to the existing "clear energywise neighbors" would greatly simplify this process.

Request platforms: Catalyst 3560G and 3560-E

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Great point and observation.  "clear energywise children" is actually already a CLI that will be incorporated into one of the new features for our next release.  It will simply clear out all connected endpoint data on the switch, including sequence numbers.

As for a workaround to this scenario right now, you do not have to hard power-cycle the switch.  You can simply just stop and restart energywise on the running switch:

Switch(config)#no energywise domain
Switch(config)#energywise domain ....
Switch(config)#energywise endpoint security ...

Hope that saves you some time in the interim.

Thanks!
