    Hi,

I'm wondering if there is a possibility to develop an IP Phone Application which executes on the phone, but the login to this application/service is done through a web page.

My main motiviation here is to provide more convinient way for the user to perform the login phase. I thought about some alternative which provides the user UI for login (web page or Win Form application), and the authentication gets done behind the scenes.

I guess that it is also possible to develop some kind of customizable solution to support this flow. But in that case, I would need to query for the Phone IP address according to the entered credentials. Is that possible?

    Thanks.

I think this would be quite possible.  As you suggest, the browser app would need to somehow 'transition' the user over to the phone for continuation of the workflow.  You can obtain the IP address of a registered phone by it's device name (typically SEP[mac address]) via the RisPort Serviceability SOAP API: http://developer.cisco.com/web/sxml/docs.  If all you have is the user name (from the login) and the user is associated to a device (either via 'primary line' in the user's config, or via the associated devices mechanism) in UCM, you can tease out the related device name via AXL SOAP API: http://developer.cisco.com/web/axl/docs
