    Hello,

    When displaying a 498x289 pixels png picture on a 99xx series phone, the image is blurred. It is random as after a few presses on the update button the image will appear clearly.

    Something is wrong with the CiscoIPPhoneImage on these phones.

     I have attached a few files for you if you want to reproduce the issue:

    mire99xx is the original clean 498x289 px image that will randomly be blurry

    mireinside9971 shows how this picture looks on the phone

    and mire extended is one pixel larger than the IP PHone Display Specs and works everytime (any other dimensions than the ones in the specs will work correctly).

    Here is the XML I've used to display the pic:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <CiscoIPPhoneImageFile>
    <Title>mire99xxextended.png</Title>
    <Prompt>Test Display Area Size</Prompt>
    <LocationX>-1</LocationX>
    <LocationY>-1</LocationY>
    <URL>http://192.168.0.71:80/mire99xx.png</URL>
    </CiscoIPPhoneImageFile>

    Also the IP PHone sends a display size of 640 x 480 in its HTTP Header which is the total size of the screen and not the display area available to the services as it should be....bug

    x-CiscoIPPhoneDisplay
    This Cisco-proprietary header contains the display capabilities of the requesting device with the
    following four parameters (listed in the order in which they appear):
      ¿ Width (in pixels)
      ¿ Height (in pixels)
      ¿ Color depth (in bits)
      ¿ A single character indicating whether the display is color (''C'') or gray scale (''G'')
    These parameters get separated by commas as shown in the following example of a
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970 header:
    x-CiscoIPPhoneDisplay: 298, 168, 12, C
    Note The pixel resolutions advertised by the device define the area of the display accessible by the phone
    services; not the actual resolution of the display.

    Is this something I am doing wrong or is this a bug of the phone?
    Do you have the same problem?

    Thanks a lot

    This is a known defect which will be resolved in upcoming releases.  For now the workaround is as you describe, use an image resolution that differs from the exact max dimensions.
