Exploring a Java Bot: Part 1
One of the Cisco Security Intelligence Operations (SIO) Research Team’s labs is dedicated to running malicious software to ensure Cisco security products work against real-world threats. Recently, SIO Senior Engineer Craig Williams tracked down a sample Java bot—written in the Java programming language—that someone could use to create their own botnet. Now Shipping: Cisco IPS Card for the Cisco ASA 5505
The hardware-accelerated IPS card (AIP SSC-5) for the Cisco ASA 5505 Adaptive Security Appliance is now available for shipping. The card’s intrusion prevention capabilities greatly enhance firewall protection by blocking threats and network attacks, including worms, Trojans, viruses, and attacks against operating system and application vulnerabilities. Providing up to 75 Mbps of IPS throughput, the AIP SSC-5 can protect both IPv6 and IPv4 networks.
